Two men charged after assault and e-bike theft in downtown Orillia

Police say a man with a knife attacked a person at 6am on Sunday; Two Orillians face multiple charges following incident

Two Orillians are facing multiple charges following a robbery in downtown Sunday.

Orillia OPP say at 6 a.m. on Nov. 17, a man attacked a person with a knife and stole his e-bike in a parking lot in downtown Orillia.

The teams examined the area and identified the suspects. Just after 2 p.m., police were able to arrest the duo.

Amanda Hustler, 37, of Orillia, was charged with robbery with a weapon and possession of property obtained by crime over $5,000.

Christopher Draper, 40, also of Orillia, armed robbery, possession of property obtained by crime over $5,000, failure to comply with release order, failure to comply with probation order, making threats (causing bodily harm) and possession of a weapon for dangerous purposes.

Both parties were held in custody until the bail hearing.

None of the claims have been tested in court.
