A Columbia man has been charged after allegedly robbing a hospital and assaulting his cellmate following the robbery.

According to court records, at 12:45 a.m. on Nov. 16, officers responded to an alleged robbery at a hospital.

Records say Dakota Foley was seen on security footage holding a box cutter in one hand and taking a pocket knife from a hospital patient.

A second probable cause report stated that at 5:21 a.m. the same day, security footage showed Foley attacking a cellmate.

The report stated that Foley was seen standing with a blanket and white rope in his hand in the video.

Foley then approached another detainee, wrapped the white rope around his neck and began pulling him backwards.

According to court records, a police officer interviewed the detainee who was allegedly attacked and told the officer that before the attack, Foley said, “The cops put me here to kill you.”

Foley was charged with First Degree Robbery, Armed Criminal Action, and Second Degree Assault.
