The cafe opened in September and has a widespread reputation. The color palette of the cafe, where coffins decorated with gold, green and yellow floral patterns and motifs in different colors and patterns, has been chosen to create a relaxing atmosphere.
The coffin was designed to provide a comfortable experience, allowing visitors to lie inside and reflect on their own lives. The coffin cafe experience costs 2,200 yen / US$14.

The coffin cafe experience also allows patrons who are couples to take photos together inside the coffin, and even gives them the opportunity to choose their close assistant to close the coffin lid.

48 years old Kiyotaka HiranoKajiya Honten President, who founded the coffin cafe, explained that this idea arose after he unexpectedly lost his father when he was 24 years old.
He noted that while many young people are waiting with excitement for the wedding, there are also those who are curious about the funeral ceremony. The goal is to give them the opportunity to think about how they want to live before it’s time to leave the world.
He also explained that the coffin can symbolize rebirth, meaning a reset in one’s life after experiencing the coffin café.
