Sacked Nuneaton HelloFresh employees lose legal battle

In October the company also announced plans to close its Nuneaton warehouse, putting almost 900 jobs at risk.

A spokesperson for HelloFresh said: “The outcome of the hearing confirms that recent redundancies were investigated and handled fairly and that HelloFresh acted in the best interests of its employees to ensure the safety and well-being of its employees.”

In response, the Community Union, which represents workers, said it was “understandably unhappy” with the initial decision.

Gavin Miller, Community Union’s Midlands Regional Secretary, said: “We are of the view that these workers lost their jobs as a result of trying to communicate with their employers and asking to be listened to.”

It invited HelloFresh to conduct an independent review of its business operations through Syndex, a consulting firm that assists employee representatives.

“If their employees are truly the heart of everything they do, they will see this as an important metric for assessing how they can retain their loyal and committed workforce,” Mr. Miller said.
