FORT ST. JOHN, BC — Below is Fort St. Louis from November 12-15. Included are the most recent sentences handed down by the St. John and Dawson Creek state courts.

Fort St. John County Court decision, November 12

Cheyanne Lynn Macdonald (born 1989):

Macdonald left Fort St. on September 29, 2023. He was found guilty of violating his probation order related to an incident that occurred in St. John.

Macdonald was given conditional discharge, an 18-month probation order and a $100 victim surcharge to assist victims of a crime.

Parole means that if a person meets conditions set by a judge, the record will show no conviction.

Dawson Creek Provincial Court decision, November 12.

Simon Scott Guilbeault (born 1977):

Guilbeault was convicted of five counts of making threats related to incidents that occurred between May and June 2023 in Dawson Creek.

Guilbeault received five 12-month probation orders, was ordered to pay a $500 victim surcharge and received five conditional sentences, sometimes called “house arrest,” a sentence to be served under strict conditions outside of prison.

Each conditional sentence given to Guilbeault was 30 days.

Charles David Meise (born 1963):

Meise, two counts of threatening, two counts of breaking and entering to commit a criminal offense, two counts of threatening to cause death or bodily harm, criminal mischief of $5,000 or less, pointing a firearm, two counts of possessing an unlicensed firearm and/or is registering and causing discomfort.

The charges were filed in connection with incidents that occurred between December 2022 and November 2023 in Dawson Creek and Tumbler Ridge.

Meise was sentenced to a total of 1,967 days in prison and also received 10 12-month probation orders.

Fort St. John County Court decision, November 14

Kenneth Lorne James Hopkins (born 1986):

Hopkins left Fort St. on January 13, 2024. He was found guilty of assault for an incident that occurred in St. John. Hopkins was sentenced to prison and one year of supervised release.

Fort St. John County Court decision, November 15.

Christopher Lee Chipesia (born 1979):

Chispesia will return to Fort St. on October 3, 2023. He was convicted of driving while prohibited following an incident in St. John. Chipesia was fined $500, including a $75 victim surcharge, and was also given a one-year driving ban.

Ronnie Thomas Field (born 1969):

Field was convicted of using a firearm while committing an indictable offense for an incident that occurred on July 15, 2023, in Halfway River. Field was sentenced to prison and six months probation.

Christine Sarah Ann Leloup (born 1979):

Leloup received $250 in damages following an alleged assault charge related to an incident that occurred on Aug. 6, 2023, in Taylor. If they violate the conditions set by the court, they will have to pay $250.
