RG Kar’s rape and murder trial continues; Magistrate testified about investigation findings

It was stated that the judge who conducted the investigation into the 31-year-old doctor, who was raped and killed at RG Kar Medical Faculty and Hospital on August 9, was one of the three people who testified in the Sealdah court on Monday, November 18. Telegram.

An inquest is a criminal investigation held before a jury to examine the cause of a violent or unexpected death.

The other two people who testified in the case were the witness of the investigation and the cameraman who recorded the investigation. These three people are part of the 128 witnesses listed by the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI).

Why is the judge’s statement so important?
According to central sources, the magistrate’s statements are important as the criminal investigation will be decided according to whether the victim was killed or not.

Senior police officers also submitted that the magistrate’s inquiry was a statutory inquiry into the cause of death under the Bharatiya Nagarik Suraksha Sanhita (BNSS).

A senior Kolkata Police officer revealed that an investigating judge had recorded all the evidence vital for the trial of a criminal case.

Update so far
Since the trial began on November 11, the court has recorded the statements of nine people, including the victim’s parents.

The autopsy report of the deceased resident doctor also listed 16 external wounds and 9 internal injuries. The report stated that there were no fractures or injuries in muscles, bones or joints.

As in previous sessions, Monday’s sessions were held in front of cameras.

Sanjay Roy, the only accused accused of rape and murder, was arraigned and allowed to hear evidence as required by law.
