Court hears multiple failed attempts against top criminal lawyer

WESTERN CAPE – The Western Cape High Court heard details of how there were multiple failed assassination attempts against top criminal lawyer William Booth.

In April 2020, several shots were fired at Booth’s home.

He escaped unhurt.

The attacks on Booth form part of the trial of Nafiz Modack and 14 other defendants, who face 122 charges including murder and attempted murder.

Colonel Eddie Clark told the court that during his investigations he discovered links between Nafiz Modack and the attack on lawyer William Booth in April 2020.

Booth represented a client who was intimidated and threatened by defendant number eight Jacques Cronje, one of Modack’s partners.
