Pottsville man waives hearing on methamphetamine charges

POTTSVILLE – A 40-year-old Pottsville man who allegedly bought methamphetamine from a city woman and then sold it to a confidential informant waived his right to a preliminary hearing Monday.

David Mohl, who was being held in the Schuylkill County Jail before bail was changed to $100,000 unsecured, was charged Oct. 28 with felony manufacture, delivery or intent to manufacture or deliver, conspiracy and possession of a controlled substance.

The case now goes to Schuylkill County Common Pleas Court.

Reading State Police and a detective with the Schuylkill County District Attorney’s Office Drug Task Force charged Mohl with crimes stemming from an investigation in July when he was communicating with a confidential informant and making arrangements to purchase methamphetamine from a woman in the city.

The woman, 31-year-old Crystal Harper, faces the same charges, but has not yet had a preliminary hearing.

Mohl met the informant, who was wearing a recording device, in the city, police said. They then drove to an undisclosed location, where Harper was seen entering and exiting the vehicle and a home.

Police said Mohl gave the informant a clear plastic bag, which later tested positive for methamphetamine.
