Joe Scarborough Avoids Backlash at Trump Meeting

Morning Joe homeowner Joe Scarborough He dismissed backlash over his visit to the president-elect Donald Trump from media colleagues as evidence of a “major disconnect” between social media and the real world.

Scarborough and co-host on Monday’s show Mika Brzezinski clarified They visited Trump on Friday, telling viewers they wanted to “restart communication” and that it was “time for a new approach” in their coverage of the new administration.

Announcement received almost instant response Some commentators and media members condemned the move, noting the host’s longstanding anti-Trump criticism; others saw it as a cynical ploy to reverse the decline in ratings.

During the opening of Tuesday’s show, Scarborough reacted by thanking those who supported him and ignored his critics without notice.

First of all, I want to thank everyone who was kind last night. Yesterday I saw for the first time what a huge disconnect there is between social media and the real world because all day we were literally inundated with phone calls from people from all over the world, all very positive, very supportive, ‘I understand what you’re doing’ …’ etc., etc.

But every once in a while I would get a text or a phone call from someone saying, ‘Oh man, I hope you’re okay.’ I will call them back Eddie Glaude was one of them, I would say: ‘Are you on Twitter?’ And he says, ‘I am.’ I would say, ‘It’s not me, so we had a nice day.’ Mika had a great event and it’s amazing.’ We will all do our best and work for a better America.

“Take it day by day, folks,” Brzezinski added.

“Day by day,” Scarborough repeated. Again, you can predict the future by shaping the future.”
