“We conducted an investigation yesterday (Monday) and late at night (Monday) the collector issued a restraining order,” Rao said.

The investigation by the district education officer (DEO) and girl child development officer resulted in disciplinary proceedings against Principal Prasanna.

“The principal (Prasanna) admitted that he took action by cutting the hair/extra hair of some students. “Therefore, prima facie, the allegation has been proven beyond doubt.”

Tribal student dies by suicide in Madhya Pradesh

In a separate incident, a Class 12 tribal student in Madhya Pradesh died by suicide after school officials scolded him for using his mobile phone to take selfies.

Raj Osari, 17, a government high school student from Gulwad in Mandleshwar district, jumped from Jam Gate, a historical site in Madhya Pradesh’s Khargone district, on November 8.

“Raj jumped from the Jam Gate and was subsequently found in a ditch. While he was trying to jump, his relatives and the security guard posted in the area asked him not to do so, but he did not listen to them and took the extreme step,” Khargone district Superintendent of Police Dharamraj Meena said.

Osari, a resident of Kakad Khodri village, stayed in a government-run hostel. Meena added that she was admitted to a government hospital in Mandleshwar, where doctors declared her dead.
