5 reasons to watch Kannada movie Maryade Prashne in theaters

Maryade Prashne, which means matter of respect in English, is an upcoming Kannada film that has an ensemble cast that includes Rakesh Adiga, Sunil Raoh, Poornachandra Mysore, Teju Belawadi and Shine Shetty, among others. It is a slice-of-life story about the struggles of lower middle class people in a city like Bengaluru.

The story explores the power of friendship and the lengths one can go to seek justice for a loved one. The film was written by RJ Pradeepa, one of Kannada’s leading RJs, and directed by Nagaraj Somayaji. It was produced by actors Shwetha R Prasad and Vidya Gandhi Rajan under the banner Sakkath Studio.

Here are five reasons to watch Kannada movie Maryade Prashne:

Trailer 1

The beautifully cut two and a half minute trailer of Maryade Prashne presents the world in which the film’s heroes live and struggle. It showcases the clear distinction between the lives, aspirations, and nature of the three main characters. , along with the cinematic hues that come with them; Docile, romantic and chaotic are words that can describe these three characters.

The trailer also establishes the themes, conflicts, and elements the story will deal with. The excellent music and cinematography and technical brilliance that elevate the trailer add excitement to the film. The trailer of the film was released by none other than Kannada superstar Kiccha Sudeep, who said that he loved the trailer and that it was “simple and powerful”. These comments describe the trailer very well!

2. Excuse me! Sunil Raoh is back in theaters

Excuse Me is a 2003 blockbuster Kannada film directed by Prem, starring Sunil Raoh in the lead role along with Ajay Rao and Ramya (Divya Spandana). Sunil Raoh, who plays the anti-hero in the film, became a household name after the film was released and ran in theaters for more than 220 days.

Sunil’s portrayal of an arrogant young college student who, in a selfish act, steals his best friend’s love by pretending to be someone he is not, earned him instant critical praise. Even though he hasn’t featured in many films since the 2010s, it will be nostalgic for Kannada audiences to see him in a leading role on the big screen after almost fifteen years.

3. Sakkath Studio presents

Founded by RJ Pradeepa, a famous Kannada RJ, Sakkath Studio has produced many interesting short films and several web series over the years. They produced the first Kannada web series, Loose Connection, starring Sunil Raoh. This new production house, which specializes in creating new generation content and offers opportunities to young filmmakers, looks promising.

4. Bigg Boss Kannada biggies clash

Rakesh Adiga, who played the chaotic lead role in the film, emerged as the first runner-up of Bigg Boss Kannada Season 9. Shine Shetty, who played one of the enemies in the movie, became the winner of Bigg Boss Kannada Season 7. The face-offs between the fan-favorite duo in their respective seasons of Bigg Boss Kannada, one of the most successful reality shows in Kannada, are absolutely thrilling. The hostility in the first scene of the trailer is proof of this. It will be interesting to see the two fight against each other.

5. Relatable relationships

As shown in the trailer, the lower middle class lifestyles and struggles and dynamics of the three main characters seem quite relatable. Poornachandra Mysore, playing the romantic lead with Teju Belawadi, tells an adorable love story between two people who live a tough life and support each other.

Sunil Raoh and his family, who look innocent in the trailer, display yet another feature of middle-class life. Rakesh Adiga and his political ambitions add color to the story with his tough appearance, aggression and conflict.

At a time when established actors and directors of the Kannada film industry are taking their time to present extraordinary characters and stories to the audience, many talented young filmmakers are coming forward and making their mark.

Maryade Prashne appears to be another venture by such filmmakers, with a team of artists clearly invested in their director’s vision. It is not yet known whether this initiative will pay off when the film is released on November 22, 2024.
