Country woman who shot someone in her car takes a plea deal

SPARTANBURG, SC (FOX Carolina) – A woman who shot at someone inside her car in Spartanburg County is now accepting a plea deal.

Shanesha Gladden was first charged with three counts of attempted murder in 2022, authorities said.

In court Monday, one of those charges was reduced to two charges of assault and battery. Two other attempted murder charges were dismissed.

“I love my sister and I apologize on her behalf, but as she stated, these women knew what they were getting into when they approached Shanesha’s home,” said Gladden’s brother, Corey Rice. “I apologize on behalf of my brother. I deeply apologize for his behavior.”

The judge accepted the defense.

Gladden will spend 13 years behind bars, counting the two-and-a-half years already served.
