David X. Sullivan, Thomas J. Finn and Gregory A. Hall of McCarter & English appeared on behalf of Sunrun Installation Services in a pending civil rights case. The complaint was filed Sept. 4 in Connecticut District Court by attorney Robert M. Berke on behalf of former employee George Edward Steins, who was arrested and charged with operating an unregistered home improvement salesman. The complaint alleges that Sunrun would not have faced charges had it notified the Connecticut Department of Consumer Protection that the plaintiff’s employment ended in 2017 and that Sunrun no longer held a home improvement contractor license, which were dismissed in May 2024.
