Provincial emergency alert testing scheduled for Wednesday

Provincial emergency alert testing scheduled for Wednesday

Those in Saskatchewan can get an alert on their cellphones, TVs and radios Wednesday afternoon as part of the province’s emergency alert test.

The SaskAlert test is scheduled for 1:55 p.m. and will also be viewed on compatible wireless devices and through the SaskAlert app, according to a statement from the province.

The warning will be issued by the Saskatchewan Public Safety Agency (SPSA).

SPSA said testing was a standard part of the emergency management process to ensure urgent safety alerts could be disseminated to the public when emergencies occurred.
