Trial of man accused of sexually abusing a minor postponed

The jury trial of a man accused of trying to rape a teenager late at night continued last week.

Travis Howey is charged with attempted rape, sexual assault of a minor, and imprisonment after the incident, which dates back to August 2022.

A 14-year-old girl claimed she was attempted rape while walking on CR 15.

She reportedly said she heard a motorcycle behind her and turned to find a man groping her and taking her cell phone before running away.

Police tracked his cell phone and found a man and moped matching the victim’s description.

Goshen News Howey’s hearing has been postponed until February 10, he said.
