1 person died in a traffic accident in Kavre

A man died in an accident that occurred in Panauti Municipality Ward 5 on the Banepa-Panauti internal road section on Tuesday night.

According to Superintendent of Police Gyan Bahadur Khadka, Krishna Kunwar (42) of Ward 2, Panauti Municipality, died in the accident.

Kunwar was driving from Banepa to Panauti when he lost control of his scooter and was hit by a motorcycle heading towards Banepa from the opposite direction.

Police said he breathed his last while being treated at Banepa-based Scheer Memorial Hospital.

Motorcycle driver Rijan Suwal (21) from Ward 4 of Dhulikhel Municipality is in police custody. Police are continuing their investigation for more detailed information.
