A German student caught the attention of Chinese social media after applying traditional Chinese medicine (TCM) techniques to help a Chinese woman who suffered a heart attack while climbing a mountain.

The heartwarming story began when Joel Mikael Walker, 29, known by his Chinese name Wuming, who has more than 1.4 million followers on Douyin, was filming a show in the Dengfeng mountains in central China’s Henan province.

During landing, a crew member alerted him to a young woman who had collapsed and lost consciousness.

“They knew I was a doctor so they called me to check on him,” Wuming told Red Star News.

Wuming acted quickly and found him pale and unconscious; After checking his pulse, he suspected that he was having a sudden heart attack.
