Christopher Darnell Jones pleads guilty to first-degree murder and other charges

CHARLOTTESVILLE, Virginia (WVIR) — Christopher Darnell Jones Jr. pleaded guilty to multiple charges in Albemarle County Circuit Court this morning, Wednesday, November 20.

Fees include:

• Three counts of first degree murder
• Double aggravated intentional wounding
• Five counts of using a firearm during the commission of a crime.

The charges relate to: Fatal shooting on UVA grounds In 2022.

Jones’ sentence is scheduled to begin on February 4, 2025.

The first-degree murder charges and aggravated intentional battery charges each carry a sentence of 20 years to life in prison.

The plea agreement did not include a sentencing agreement, and the judge will decide Jones’ sentence.
