HARTFORD, Conn. (WFSB) – A 19-year-old was arrested for speeding and speeding on I-91 Wednesday morning.

The driver was identified as 19-year-old Xavier Daniels of Middletown.

Daniels was arrested for evading a trooper and reckless driving.

Daniels was driving a gray Honda Accord with license plate CT.

He was weaving in and out of traffic on I-91 North near Exit 25, a state trooper said.

The trooper attempted to pull Daniels aside.

Instead of stopping, Daniels accelerated, reaching speeds of 109 mph in a 55 mph zone, police said.

After finding the Honda’s registration details, troopers went to a home in Middletown and spoke with Daniels’ family.

The family confirmed that Xavier was the driver of the Honda.

Police said Daniels was driving with a suspended license, the registration plan was for a different vehicle, and the Honda was unregistered and uninsured.

Daniels was found and arrested.

He was released on $10,000 bail and is scheduled to appear in court in December.
