Arrest warrant issued at Port Charlotte home leads to arrest of 8 undocumented people

SARASOTA, Fla. (WWSB) – Border Patrol and the Charlotte County Sheriff’s Office arrested eight undocumented immigrants after raiding a home with an assault warrant.

According to the Charlotte County Sheriff’s Office, deputies and Border Patrol arrived at a home on Little Falls Ave in Port Charlotte. Deputies had an arrest warrant for Jorge Pineda.

Pineda was wanted on an arrest warrant for allegedly assaulting a Border Patrol agent. Deputies say Pineda, who was stoned, attacked them.

The other seven people in the house tried to escape or hide.

Deputies arrested them for trespassing and $2,500 worth of damage to a rental property. The property owner stated that there was a large hole in the drywall next to the back bedroom, the bedroom window was damaged, the screen was bent in half and sagging, and several closet doors were torn off their hinges.
