Man accused of attacking his ex-girlfriend after breaking into her home

JONESBORO, Ark. (KAIT) – A Brookland man is behind bars after police say he attacked his ex-girlfriend after breaking into her home uninvited.

Craighead County Court Judge Tommy Fowler found probable cause on Wednesday, November 20, to charge 35-year-old Marlon Lemont Tramble with 3rd degree aggravated residential burglary, 3rd degree battery, and 2nd degree assault on a family or home member.

According to the affidavit, on Sunday, Nov. 17, officers responded to a home in the 500 block of West Thomas Avenue for a residential burglary.

Police learned that Tramble entered the home without her permission while a woman was lying in bed inside.

The victim, later revealed to be Tramble’s ex-girlfriend, told police she did not live at the home, had never lived there and had no belongings there.

Upon arrival, Tramble entered the bedroom and attacked the victim and a man who was also in the room, the affidavit said.

Officers later discovered the man had “scratches and bruises on his neck from the attack,” and the victim said, “Tramble struck him in the head and strangled him.”

Upon arrival, officers observed Tramble fighting with a group of people.

While trying to break up the fight, Tramble ran away from the house, but the police quickly arrested him.

Tramble is being held at the Craighead County Detention Center on $250,000 cash/surety.

Judge Fowler ordered Tramble to wear an ankle monitor and have no contact with the victim if he is released.

Tramble’s hearing date is scheduled for Friday, January 24.
