Santa Maria Man Convicted of Raping and Impregnating Teens

(San Luis Obispo County) District Attorney Dan Dow announced today that Juan Sanchezflores, 44, of Santa Maria was sentenced to 25 years to life in state prison for his conviction of rape and infliction of great bodily injury by force or violence. A 16-year-old victim.

Sanchezflores must now register as a sex offender for the rest of his life.

“Predators are not welcome here. “Any person who commits a violent crime like this will be vigorously investigated by this office,” said District Attorney Dan Dow. “My heart goes out to this survivor and I am grateful for her courage to seek help from the criminal and victim justice system.” “I hope this case serves to encourage all other survivors to report knowing they will be heard and defended in San Luis Obispo County.”

The lengthy sentence came as a result of Sanchezflores pleading guilty to rape by force or violence and admitting to personally causing great bodily injury.

The great bodily injury added to the sentence is based on the young survivor becoming pregnant as a result of the crime.
