Man found guilty of murder in Woodburn grocery store shooting

A Marion County jury found a 38-year-old man guilty on Wednesday. Shooting and killing a woman at Woodburn convenience store In June 2023.

The shooting took place on Sunday, June 4, 2023 at Mt. It took place at Mega Foods on Hood Boulevard.

Police arrested Jose Gustavo Garcia-Rivera.

Police identified the victim as 39-year-old Noel Romero-Orozco.

Both lived in Woodburn.

The jury found Garcia-Rivera guilty of second-degree murder and recklessly endangering another person.

His sentence is planned to be announced on Tuesday, November 26.

Second-degree murder carries a mandatory sentence of life in prison without the possibility of parole before 25 years.
