UP domestic abusers sentenced to jail | News, Sports, Jobs

MARQUETTE — Six defendants charged by the U.S. Attorney’s Office for the Western District of Michigan, Northern Division, have been sentenced to prison for domestic violence-related offenses within the past six months, U.S. Attorney Mark Totten said.

Ronald Burt Krull, 56, of Kinross, was sentenced this week to 30 months in prison for assault by strangling his partner, Totten announced in a press release.

“The harsh truth is that millions of Americans live in fear of domestic violence every day.” Here’s what Totten said: “My office stands with victims, and we will continue to do everything we can to protect them and work with law enforcement to hold their abusers accountable.”

The court had previously sentenced the following defendants:

-On June 5, Steven Webster, 31, of Green Bay, Wisconsin, was sentenced to five years in prison for domestic assault by a habitual person.

— On June 26, Jacob Wolf, 28, of Marquette, was sentenced to 38 months in prison for domestic assault by a habitual person.

– On July 18, Eric Halfaday, 39, of Wilson, was sentenced to two years in prison for assault by strangling his sexual partner.

— On Sept. 5, Jaden Plank, 25, of Sault Ste. Marie was sentenced to 37 months in prison for assaulting her partner by strangling him.

— On Nov. 18, Jason Michael Noguess, 33, of Delta County, was sentenced to 33 months in prison for assault by strangling his sexual partner.

The FBI, Keweenaw Bay Indian Community Police, Sault Tribal Police Department, Hannahville Police Department and Marquette City Police investigated the cases.
