Mother accused of killing her 14-year-old daughter by holding her head under water in the bathtub

OSCEOLA COUNTY, Fla. (WESH) – A Florida mother faces charges after deputies say she killed her 14-year-old daughter by holding her head underwater in the bathtub.

Osceola County Sheriff’s Office deputies responded to the family’s home in Poinciana on Wednesday. They say they found 35-year-old mother Kelsey Glover chasing witnesses with a hammer and had to take her away.

“When the officers get there he actually walks away from him with a hammer and he tries to hit the lady who was trying to stop him from hurting her daughter. This was just something we caught in the act and God only knows which way this will go if we don’t get there in time and break down the door,” said Sheriff Mark Lopez.

Deputies found Glover’s 14-year-old daughter, Giselle Glover, unresponsive in the bathtub. He was taken to hospital but could not be saved.

Lopez said witnesses told deputies they saw Glover holding his daughter’s head under water in the bathtub. They tried to stop him but failed.

Glover is charged with aggravated assault with a deadly weapon and battery. Lopez said more charges may be added once Giselle’s exact cause of death is determined.

“What happened to her is unimaginable and we are committed to getting justice for Giselle,” Lopez said.

The sheriff said Glover was uncooperative and they didn’t have a motive yet. The mother has no criminal history.
