Oshkosh police arrest 5 people on suspicion of pimping following human trafficking investigation

OSHKOSH – Five men, ages 23-43, from Oshkosh, Fond du Lac and Appleton, were arrested on suspicion of making signs on Nov. 20.

The arrests were made as part of an undercover human trafficking investigation on the city’s south side.

The men’s names were not released.

“The Oshkosh Police Department remains unwaveringly committed to combating human trafficking, and we continue to work diligently to investigate crimes of this nature,” the department said in a press release.

“For various reasons, it can be very difficult for victims of human trafficking to escape these situations,” the statement said. “We are partnering with local nonprofits to ensure resources can be quickly delivered to victims.

“The Oshkosh Police Department strives to reduce the number of victims by proactive investigations and vigilance in our efforts to combat human trafficking,” the statement continued. “Our door is always open to those seeking help and we encourage anyone with information or concerns about human trafficking to come forward.”
