Gurugram Man Pulls Gun on 12-Year-Old Boy Fighting with Son in Park

The incident took place on Tuesday at Lagoon Apartment in the DLF 3rd Stage area.

Gurugram:

An argument between two boys during a football match turned aggressive when the father of one of the boys pulled a gun on the other boy in a popular housing society in Gurugram. However, the suspect’s wife went to the scene and pushed the suspect, preventing a possible accident.

The accused, Prateek Sachdeva, a liquor businessman, was arrested following a complaint from the victim’s family but was later released on bail.

The incident, recorded on CCTV, took place on Tuesday at Lagoon Apartments in the DLF Stage 3 area.

The victim’s father, Karan Lohia, in his complaint, alleged that the 12-year-old boy was playing with Sachdeva’s son when the two boys suddenly started fighting. While Mr. Sachdeva’s son ran to their home to complain about the fight, the businessman returned with a gun to confront the victim.

CCTV footage shows Mr Sachdeva pointing the gun at the boy even as his wife intervened and rushed to take him away.

In his complaint, Mr. Lohia alleged that his wife witnessed the incident from the balcony of their sixth-floor flat and even shouted at the accused, begging him not to harm their son. The complainant added that the entire incident took its toll on the child, who is now afraid to return to the park.

Mr. Sachdeva was arrested under various provisions of the Arms Act and the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita, but was later released on bail.

“We arrested the accused liquor businessman and seized his licensed pistol. He was released on bail after joining the investigation. Investigation is on,” a police officer told PTI.
