The Royal Virgin Islands Police Force (RVIPF) has charged a 17-year-old man from Jost Van Dyke with criminal damage and four counts of theft in connection with incidents across the Territory.

According to RVIPF, the thefts occurred in Mount Butu, East Side, Big Mountain and Healthy Mountain.

Acting Police Commissioner Jacqueline Vanterpool emphasized that this arrest reflects RVIPF’s commitment to addressing community concerns and fighting crime.

“While we have made progress, our efforts will not end there. We continue to rely on community collaboration to strengthen our crime-fighting initiatives,” Vanterpool said.

He also highlighted the disturbing trend of young people being involved in criminal activities.

He concluded: “The fact that so many young people are involved in crime should be a cause for concern for all of us in society and it will take a united approach from everyone to solve this serious problem.”

RVIPF continues to encourage residents to assist in its efforts by reporting suspicious activity and supporting crime-fighting initiatives in the District.
