Female skeleton found in park in southern Hong Kong

Police are investigating a human skeleton found in southern Hong Kong.

A woman’s body was found on a hillside near a basketball court in Aberdeen’s Ap Lei Chau Park on Friday, officers said.

The force received a report of the incident at 3pm on Thursday. Initial forensic examinations indicate that this is a female skeleton.

A team from the western district crime squad is continuing the investigation.

Cases of human skeletons being discovered on hillsides or in the sea have been recorded in the city in the past.

In December last year, a fisherman unearthed what was thought to be a human jawbone in the waters southwest of the city.
