MSNBC contributor warns: ‘We should all be afraid’ Trump’s new AG Pam Bondi ‘because she’s talented’

College professor and MSNBC writer Jason Johnson warned that President-elect Donald Trump’s recent pick to lead the Justice Department should create “fear” on the left because Trump could actually implement his agenda.

Trump announced Thursday evening that he will nominate Florida’s former attorney general Pam Bondi As the next attorney general of the United States. The latest cabinet pick replaces former Florida representative Matt Gaetz, who withdrew his candidacy for attorney general on Thursday after “distraction” caused by his candidacy over allegations that he paid underage women for sex.

Johnson told MSNBC host Ari Melber that this is bad news for those worried about Trump.

“Sometimes attorneys general try to act like they’re not the personal lawyer of the President of the United States. That’s completely out the window. I was saying in the last episode what we should all be afraid of, because he’s competent,” Pam Bondi said.

“We may not agree with him ideologically, but he actually knows how to get this job done,” Johnson told Melber. “If anyone on the Democratic side or anyone who cares about freedom or justice thinks, ‘Maybe Matt Gaetz will do this,’ fuck this.” and it’ll save us time, ‘no Pam Bondi knows what she’s doing.”

“He knows what he’s doing on immigration. Remember, Florida is one of those states that is very aggressive about immigration, deportation, people moving to different states, things like that. Florida has put in place all kinds of rules and laws to reduce student numbers.” It aims to find legal justification for what they can do on campuses and manipulate tuition money,” Johnson said.

He continued: “He is a dangerous and effective choice, and frankly that is worse than what we could have achieved with this election. Matt Gaetz, Despite his deplorable moral record.”

As Johnson noted, he had warned in an earlier episode about the notion of a more experienced election, arguing that it would be a much more frightening election for those wary of Trump’s agenda.

“It is, but I guess I never thought Matt Gaetz was a genuine choice. Trump can call whatever he wants, but I suspect there are many, many people lining up to come after him. He’s not going to be that aggressive, who might actually be more effective,” he said.

“While this is a loss in the war, I don’t think this is a victory in the war against the AG, who ushered in an authoritarian style of presidency that affects the fundamental rights of American citizens,” Johnson added. .
