Enugu SME Agency partners with MagicLabs Studio to launch motion design and animation training program

The Enugu State Government, through the Small and Medium Enterprise Agency (Enugu SME Agency), has taken another bold step forward in its quest for youth empowerment and basic skill development by partnering with MagicLabs Studio to launch the Enugu Magic Labs Animation Training Programme.

The initiative aims to establish Enugu as a leading animation and motion design hub in Africa, building on the state’s broader vision of creating a thriving digital economy and creating a pool of highly skilled professionals focused on youth.

With the increasing importance of basic modern skills in the global economy, His Excellency Dr. The Peter Mbah-led Enugu State Government has emerged as a leader in developing youth potential through innovative educational programmes.

Over the years, Enugu SME Agency has successfully equipped thousands of youths with basic skills in various fields such as; Programming, Artificial Intelligence Fundamentals, Plumbing, Construction and Social Media Marketing etc.

These efforts have not only provided individuals with the opportunity to gain employment and start businesses, but have also contributed significantly to the economic growth of the state. This new partnership with MagicLabs Studio continues that tradition, aiming to develop the skills of over 400 young locals and residents and prepare them to succeed in the rapidly expanding global animation industry.

The six-month program, which starts on September 16, 2024, is designed to provide participants with both the knowledge and practical experience they need. Graduates will be ready to enter the animation industry with strong job opportunities at top animation studios.
