Conor McGregor A woman has been awarded more than $250,000 after a civil jury in Dublin, Ireland, found the MMA fighter responsible for sexual assault.

Nikita Hand’s lawyers argued McGregor “brutally raped and assaulted” her after a night of partying on a Dublin hotel rooftop in 2018, leaving Hand with severe injuries and suffering from post-traumatic stress disorder .

The panel of eight women and four men announced the decision on Friday after nearly six hours of deliberation at the High Court in Dublin.

“To all victims of sexual assault, I hope my story serves as a reminder that no matter how scared you are, speak up, raise your voice and continue to fight for justice,” Hand said outside court after the verdict.

McGregor testified during the hearing that he never forced the woman to do anything against her will and said the woman made up the allegations after the two had consensual sex.

In a post about X after the jury verdict, McGregor wrote: “I will be appealing today’s verdict. The judge’s instructions and the modest award awarded were for assault, not aggravated or exemplary damages. I am disappointed that the jury did not hear all of the evidence considered by the DPP. I am now with my family and focused on my future. Thank you for the worldwide support.”

McGregor, a two-time UFC champion, made his acting debut in Doug Liman’s 2024 revival of the ’80s action movie. Roadhouse opposite Jake Gyllenhaal.
