Burglary at William Penn building puts Camp Curtain Academy on lockdown

Officials in Harrisburg confirmed that Camp Curtain Academy was placed on lockdown due to a burglary at the William Penn building.

According to regional officials, Camp Perde Academy was quarantined at 14:20. School district officials told CBS 21 in a statement that the quarantine was lifted around 3:15 p.m.

Harrisburg Police Bureau Lt. Kyle Gautsch said no one was caught or arrested for the theft.

The old William Penn building is located next door to the school and there has been a history of crime there, including arson, since its abandonment.

After the curfew, parents were informed and students were dismissed from school at the scheduled time.
