Former Awami League MP from Jhalakathi Advocate M Shahjahan Omar has been booked at Rajapur Police Station for explosive action.

Rajapur upazila BNP president, lawyer Talukder Abul Kalam Azad, filed a case on Friday night (November 22) accusing 150 people, including lawyer Shahjahan Omar and 52 leaders and employees of AL, the officer-in-charge of Rajapur Police Station told BSS.


Abul Kalam Azad alleged that Shahjahan Omar and other accused damaged the BNP Rajapur thana unit office on December 30, 2023, hurled a bomb and finally set the office on fire.

Earlier on Thursday, police arrested Shahjahan Omar in connection with a case registered against Kathalia Thana on charges of damaging and setting fire to BNP’s Kathalia upazila office.
