16-Year-Old Student Found Dead in Chaitanya Degree College Hostel

hyderabad: A 16-year-old student died in the Chaitanya Degree College premises on Friday night, Nacharam police said on Saturday. Miyapur sub-inspector Narsimha said the teenager was an MPC Intermediate I student.

The student’s mother accused the university of giving her false information about the case.

Police said the teenager left his hostel room with his friend to meet another group of friends in their room. He was later seen returning to his room alone in CCTV footage. When his friend returned after a while, he found the young man dead. The hostel owners immediately informed the university authorities, who in turn notified the police.

In her complaint, the deceased’s mother said that her son was very active. He said: “Around 6.30 am, I received a phone call from the university principal and he asked me to go to a private hospital. When I reached there, I couldn’t find anyone and called the manager, who told me to go to Gandhi Hospital. When I went to Gandhi Hospital, I found my son dead and there was literally no one (from the college) around. “When I called them and asked why they left my son alone, they did not answer anything.”

The police took the body to another location for autopsy and created a record of the incident. A detailed investigation into the matter is ongoing.
