Two suspects captured after man taken to hospital following attack and robbery in West Lothian

A hunt has been launched to catch the suspect after a man was taken to hospital following an attack and robbery in West Lothian.

Police officers were alerted to the attack, which took place between North Bridge Street and Mansfield Street in Bathgate at around 12.45pm on Friday.

The man’s mobile phone was stolen and he was taken to St John’s Hospital before being released.

Police said one of the suspects was Asian and the other was Polish, both wearing high-visibility vests.

It was stated that the Polish man was approximately 35 years old.

Police warn anyone with information about the attack

Detective constable Emma Thaker said: “Inquiries are ongoing and officers are examining CCTV in and around the local area to find out more about the circumstances surrounding this incident and to trace the two men responsible.

“I would appeal to anyone who was in the area between 12pm and 12.45pm on Friday, witnessed anything suspicious or has any information that could assist this investigation to contact us.

“I would also like to ask all drivers with dashcams to review the footage and get in touch if there is anything relevant.
