Suspected in murder of Springfield mother and baby arrested in Puerto Rico

A man from Connecticut suspected of killing A Springfield mother and her 4-month-old baby were arrested in Puerto Rico on Saturday. United States Marshals Service.

Lance “Macho” Morales, 23, is accused of killing 20-year-old Jessiah Mercado and her 4-month-old son, Messiah Diaz, and wounding a third person in a drive-by shooting in Hartford on Tuesday.

Morales, of Waterbury, is charged with two counts of murder, first-degree assault, possession of a firearm, attempted first-degree assault and murder under special circumstances, according to officers.
