Fatal multi-vehicle crash kills 3 on South Side

SAN ANTONIO – Three people are dead after a massive multi-vehicle crash on the South Side.

The fatal crash happened just before 5 a.m. Friday on Roosevelt Avenue near Sava Street.

Police reported that two women and a man died in the accident involving three vehicles.

Investigators say a 46-year-old suspect was speeding when he rear-ended a vehicle containing three victims. The force of the impact pushed the victim’s vehicle into oncoming traffic, where another vehicle hit him.

All three victims were pronounced dead at the scene.

The medical examiner identified two of the victims as 22-year-old Yareli Salas Dominguez and 25-year-old Leslie Salas Dominguez.

The suspect, who escaped after the accident, was caught and detained by police teams.

The driver of the other vehicle was taken to the hospital in good health.
