‘I got knocked out by Oleksandr Usyk – here’s how Tyson Fury can beat him’ – EXCLUSIVE | Boxing | Sport

Tony Bellew has identified where Tyson Fury needs to improve to improve his chances of beating Oleksandr Usyk for a second time.

The Gypsy King suffered his first professional defeat earlier this year when he lost on points to Usyk. He will have the opportunity to avenge his loss when the two fighters renew their rivalry in Saudi Arabia next month.

Bellew is well positioned to offer insight into where Fury, who was knocked out by Usyk in his last professional fight in 2018, needs to improve.

Asked about how Fury should approach the rematch, Bellew told Express Sport: “He can’t allow himself to be bullied. That surprises me. “I was one of the only analysts picking Usyk before the fight.

“Everyone thought Fury would be too big, too strong and too heavy. I told everyone who would listen that Usyk would win. I didn’t just imagine him winning by bullying Tyson Fury.

“It surprised Fury and it surprised everyone. He won’t get away with it again. This time he’ll be much more knowledgeable and much more aware.”

“It’s crazy that a man who’s 6ft tall and weighs just 100kg can bully this 20stone, 6ft 4in monster and that’s what he did. Rematch.

“But ultimately he (Usyk) is the best natural heavyweight boxer I’ve ever seen. I never thought he’d be big enough for heavyweight.”

“Do I think Fury is completely out of the picture? Absolutely no, no. But do I think he wins? No. I would lean towards Usyk again. I think it will be a really close fight and I think Usyk will win on points.”

Bellew was speaking to Express Sport as an ambassador for the brand. Men on a Mission along with the campaign DRINK And Men’s BarracksTo raise awareness about mental health and unhealthy drinking habits in men over 50.

“We know that statistics tell us that one in four men aged 50 to 75 give almost no thought to their mental health and wellbeing,” he explained.

“You don’t really talk about it. It’s like a taboo subject. They don’t really want to talk about it, they don’t feel the need to. They actually think it’s weak. These are the guys who turn to me.” to drink.

“Before you know it, it catches up with you and it builds up and something needs to be done about it. We need to be out there talking to guys that age and telling them there are other things to do because it is, it’s so hard.”
