Odisha Government Distributes Rs 1,000 Crore Under Subhadra Program for Women Empowerment | Bhubaneswar News

Government releases phase 3 of 1st installment of Subhadra scheme

Bhubaneswar: The state government distributed the first installment of Rs 5,000 each to 20 lakh women under Subhadra Yojana at an event in Sundargarh on Sunday.
Prime Minister Mohan Majhi announced that more than Rs 1,000 Million has been transferred under the program aimed at empowering women.
After the third phase of the first installment payment, a total of 80 lakh women have been covered under the scheme so far, while the government has set a target of covering 1 crore women by December 1.
“More than 1 crore mothers and sisters will benefit from this campaign Subhadra schemeThis makes it our state’s largest public welfare initiative. The previous government extensively supported Mission Shakti, which provided interest-free loans. However, we are providing direct financial assistance to our sisters under the Subhadra scheme,” Majhi said.
In Sundargarh district, more than 4,59,000 women have enrolled in the Subhadra scheme and more than 3,37,000 have received the first installment of the third phase.
Majhi also inaugurated 988 projects worth Rs 1,282 million for Sundargarh district. He inaugurated 692 projects with an investment of 808.3 billion rupees for the development of the region. He also laid the foundations of 288 projects with an investment of 312.3 billion rupees.
Speaking on the occasion, Union Tribal Affairs Minister Jual Oram said that the state government is committed to work for the development of women.
Deputy CM Pravati Parida said there is unprecedented enthusiasm among women for the Subhadra scheme and 1 crore women have digitized documents from their homes. He also thanked Asha staff and self-help groups for assisting in the effort.
Panchayati raj and drinking water minister Ravi Naik, Raghunathpali MLA Durga Tanti and women and child development secretary Subha Sarma were also present on the occasion.
