Instagram suspended a person’s account pro-weed military veterans grouporganizers said Sunday.

“We have strictly followed Instagram’s terms of service and community guidelines and believe this suspension is unfair.”

He suspected that Instagram, owned by Meta, had pulled the account because the band’s name contained the word “marijuana” and its digital logo featured a marijuana leaf. However, the company did not notify the group why their account was suspended.

Instagram informed the suspended group that they had 180 days to appeal the suspension.

“We will take another look at your account. If we find that your account meets our community standards, you will be able to use Instagram again,” the social media firm told the group of disabled vets.

“If we find that your account does not meet our community standards, it will be permanently disabled and you will not be able to appeal again.”

The vets group operates freely on X, and Orduna praised the platform’s owner, Elon Musk, for “doing the right thing” and “taking a rational position on marijuana.”

Orduna accused Instagram of acting as “judge, jury and executioner” by showing hostility towards the growing legalized marijuana industry and veterans in particular.

“In comparison, Elon Musk and X take a responsible and rational position on marijuana,” he said.

The post continued: “We’re an advocacy group for Disabled Veterans, that’s all, but maybe that’s too radical?”

This appealed to President-elect Donald Trump’s new Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE), which will be led by Musk and entrepreneur Vivek Ramaswamy.

“Maybe @DOGE @realDonaldTrump can stop the censorship,” the post concluded.

A spokesperson for Meta declined to comment.
