Maryville man charged with sexual assault on drunk individual

MARYVILLE, MO. (KCTV) – A Maryville man could face life in prison if convicted of sexually assaulting an intoxicated person following charges against him.

Nodaway County, Missouri, Circuit Court Records filed Thursday, Nov. 21, show Aidan J. Martin, 19, of Maryville was charged with sodomy following an incident in September.

A criminal complaint was filed by the prosecutor’s office Nodaway County Prosecutor’s Office It revealed that Martin sexually assaulted his victim, who was drunk and unable to consent, on September 29. Martin also knew the victim was incapable of giving consent.

As a result, Martin was charged with sodomy and, if convicted, could face life in prison with no eligibility for parole for 30 years.

A warrant was issued for Martin’s arrest on Thursday and a no-bail condition was added, court documents said. As of Sunday, he does not appear to be behind bars.

The hearing is expected to be held at 9 a.m. on Tuesday, December 3. No further information was disclosed.
