Dancing with the Stars Alumni Artem Chigvintsev met his now ex-wife nikki garciain the ballroom. They were partners on Season 25 of DWTS. Nothing romantic happened at that time. However, the couple later reconnected after Nikki’s relationship with John Cena ended. The couple welcomed their son Matteo in 2020. They later got married in August 2022.

On August 29, 2024, Artem was arrested for allegedly “injuring his wife”. And Nikki filed for divorce shortly after. Meanwhile, the District Attorney refused to accuse against Artem.

Daily Mail reported that the couple’s divorce was finalized after mediation meetings. According to court documents, both restraining orders are “immediately terminated and will no longer have any force or effect.”

It was revealed that Nikki requested sole custody of her sons during the divorce case. On October 15, 2024, the former couple was ordered to share custody of Matteo. They were also ordered to attend parenting classes to help Nikki and Artem with co-parenting.

Finally, Artem revealed that he lost income due to Nikki’s alleged false statements. He wasn’t invited to appear on Season 33 of DWTS and was working a construction job. “It is not true that I could not find other work as a dancer,” Artem said in his legal documents.
