St. Stabbing in Albans leads to attempted murder charge

St. A St. Albans man is being held without bail at the Northwest State Prison after he allegedly stabbed another man during an argument.

Justin Lee Reynolds, 37, is expected to be arraigned on a charge of attempted second-degree murder. The alleged attack took place just before noon on Sunday in St. It sent victim Jason McWilliams, 30, of St. Albans, to hospital with serious injuries.

St. St. Albans police said the incident happened on Ranimer Place. McWilliams was at UVM Medical Center in serious but stable condition.

Reynolds was taken into custody shortly after the alleged stabbing. Police said the suspect has a criminal record that includes five felonies and one charge of assault on a police officer.

After consulting with the Franklin County State’s Attorney’s Office, Reynold’s was held in custody awaiting a hearing on the charge.
