Cleveland man wanted for rape now behind bars

CLEVELAND, Ohio (WOIO) – A 56-year-old Cleveland man accused of rape and aggravated assault is currently being held at the Cuyahoga County Justice Center on $100,000 bail.

Charles Mendenhall came forward Cuyahoga’s Most Wanted on October 3 and accordingly Crime Stoppers of Cuyahoga CountyMendenhall was arrested on October 18.

He is scheduled to appear in Cuyahoga County Common Pleas Court on Dec. 9 for a preliminary hearing.

In July 2023, Mendenhall pleaded guilty to attempted aggravated assault in an unrelated case.

Cuyahoga County Common Pleas Court Judge Cassandra Collier-Williams sentenced him to one year of probation.
