Man accused of stabbing another driver during possible traffic accident arrested

A man who allegedly stabbed another man during a road rage incident in Springfield Monday afternoon has been arrested, according to a Springfield Police Department lieutenant.

Springfield police responded to reports of a stabbing on S Limestone Street just before 4 p.m.

Both men parked in a parking lot near S Limestone Street and Fremont Boulevard during the road rage incident.

According to the lieutenant, the victim was approaching the other man when the stabbing occurred.

The man was stabbed in the arm and suffered minor injuries.

The suspect allegedly ran away and the victim followed him.

Police caught up with the men a short time later near S. Limestone Street and Selma Road.

The suspect was arrested for intentional assault. His identity was not immediately available.
