Two Ethiopian citizens, aged 27 and 47, were arrested after police found an undisclosed amount of money, two vehicles filled with illegal goods and a third vehicle marked EMS.

Mpumalanga News reports Police raided a building in Rocky Drift in the Waterval Boven district yesterday morning during an operation.

Provincial police spokesman Brigadier Donald Mdhluli said: “The ambulance was found locked in a garage and one of the additional vehicles had a fake number plate fitted. “Other items were also found, including smuggled cigarettes, some clothing items, a large amount of cash and whitening creams.”

He added that the arrest followed a three-month investigation by Pienaar police.

“All recovered items, including vehicles, were seized for further investigation. The file will be handed over to the Mpumalanga Priority Crimes Investigations Directorate (Hawks) for further investigation,” Mdhluli said.
