The company implements a ‘no day off’ policy during holidays

It’s undeniable that this time of year more and more people are experiencing burnout from a busy year. That’s why getting permission is vital a person’s mental and physical health.

However, some businesses are not set up to allow employees to take leave during the holiday season, especially if their operations require being open during the holiday period. For some, that’s the nature of the job; that’s why these people take leave during off-peak season when things are less busy.

A Reddit user recently shared a scary notification placed in a store. business.

The announcement included the following statements: “From November 25 to December 31, there will be interruptions and leaves on holidays, considering these are our busiest days of the year, there will be no exceptions such as taking time off or sick leave. Everyone needs help. Thank you. “

We can understand that businesses that are busy during the festive season need to have staff available and ready to work, but denying people sick leave is stretching the table. If the employee falls ill, he has the right to use sick leave regardless of whether his company is busy or not.

Of course, this post infuriated many who thought this was unfair to employees:

  • “If you ‘die’, you must notify the management 3 days in advance…”
  • “Pregnant women could have their babies in the warehouse and return to work after giving birth. At least that was the case at one of my former workplaces.”
  • “You are laughing, but there was a big fraud in one of the banks in my country.
“The manager was so afraid of getting caught that she returned to work the day after giving birth.”
  • “Although this is not always the case, there are many places where the boss absolutely takes time off and does not allow employees to do the same.”
  • “Christmas is for everyone, except the working people.”

Many people assume this line of business is retail, and that may be the case. This is an issue that should be addressed in employees’ contracts. But we draw the line at sick leave. You can’t assume someone won’t get sick; no one plans this.
