FIR Details of Sambhal Violence

Details of the First Information Report (FIR) against Samajwadi Party (SP) MP Zia Ur Rehman Barq emerged on Tuesday (November 26) in the Sambhal mosque violence case.

The violence broke out on Sunday morning when a crowd numbering thousands of people began throwing stones as a court-ordered investigation team arrived to inspect the Jama Masjid in the Kot West area of ​​the district.

The Sambhal MP was accused of making provocative statements and inciting unrest before violence broke out. The FIR names Barq, SP MLA Iqbal Mahmood’s son Sohail Iqbal and 700-800 unidentified people.

He cites sections of the Bharatiya Nyaya Samhita dealing with unlawful assembly, criminal offenses against public officials, endangering lives, promoting social disharmony and damaging private property.

The complaint alleges that Rehman attended prayers at the mosque on Friday, two days before the incident, and made statements that disrupted social harmony.

On the day of the violence, Sohail Iqbal and others reportedly urged the crowd to mobilize, saying “Zia Ur Rehman is with us.” Barq’s “Jama Masjid ki hifazat” (protection of Jama Masjid) explanation He mobilized the mafia.

The FIR details how an armed mob gathered near the mosque to obstruct the court-ordered investigation. Despite the warnings of the authorities, the group chanted slogans, threw stones, and set fire to police vehicles and private properties.

During the chaos, shops were set on fire and Circle Constable Anuj Kumar Chaudhary was shot in the leg. Authorities are using drone and CCTV footage to identify those involved and may invoke the stringent National Security Act (NSA).

The violence left four people dead and sparked political controversy, with opposition leaders demanding Supreme Court intervention. The identities of the dead were stated as Naeem, Bilal, Numan and Ayan.
