Six felony drug arrests made in Tishomingo County

IUKA – In just over a week, the Tishomingo County Sheriff’s Office has arrested a half-dozen people on felony drug possession charges, including one in the county jail.

On Nov. 15, deputies conducted a traffic stop on Highway 72 in Burnsville. But Danny Wayne Hamm, 63, of Cherokee, Alabama, did not surrender all of the drugs he had on him when he went to jail. When officers found more, he was also charged with bringing contraband into a correctional facility.

Hamm’s bond for the new charges was set at $100,000. He also has a felony charge out of McNairy County, Tennessee.

That same day, deputies pulled over a vehicle at Battleground Dive in Iuka for traffic violations. Deputies summoned a K-9 officer. It was reported that the police officer later discovered methamphetamine in the vehicle during a search.

Ralph Lambert was charged with possession of heroin, possession of methamphetamine and possession of paraphernalia. His bond was set at $10,000.
